A Big Chill and a Brewing Storm Could Bring a foot of snow or more could to Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston on Friday or Saturday
The temps have dropped and with a storm brewing in the Pacific Ocean, many experts are saying a Nor’easter is potentially in the makes for Washington DC, New York and Boston. “Winter is ramping up,” said Weather Channel lead meteorologist Kevin Roth. “For many areas this will be the biggest snowfall of the season so far, and for some it could be the biggest they will have all year. It will be significant.”
Likewise, accuweather.com states: “The potential exists for a major snowstorm to affect more than 50 million people across the eastern United States at the end of the week. Areas from near Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia, New York City and Boston could receive heavy snow from the storm. Unlike most storms so far this winter, this system will have enough cold air to produce snow and disruptions to daily activities in some areas of the East that have seen little thus far.”
They also state that along with heavy snow, the storm could potentially bring dangerous highway travel and scores of flight delays and cancellations during Friday into Saturday for mid-Atlantic and New England. the storm’s trajectory will be closely watched by many.
