NY Times – East Coast Storm Disrupts Thanksgiving Travel

The New York Times is reporting that “a mix of rain, sleet and snow” is “slowing traffic, grounding plans and forcing many to change their Thanksgiving plans.”
Substantial flight cancellations are taking place at many airports throughout New York. This winter storm is projected to affect over 20 million people who reside in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.
Upstate NY Weather is reporting “strengthening but fast moving coastal storm will impact the region today as it races northeast, severely impacting holiday travel with heavy snowfall.” Snowfall in Upstate NY is projected to be:
- Syracuse NY: 2 – 5 inches
- Utica NY: 2 – 5 inches
- Binghamton NY: 5 – 8 inches
- Oneonta NY: 5 – 8 inches
- Glen Falls NY: 5 – 8 inches
- Albany NY: 8-12 inches
- Kingston NY: 8 – 12 inches
The heaviest snowfall is expected to occur in the afternoon and evening.
